Established in 1956, NC Theatre and International Thespian Troupe #1851 are one of the schools oldest and longest running programs.

North Central High School Theatre has produced nearly 300 productions including at least one main stage musical each year. Currently NC Theatre produces four main stage productions and multiple smaller shows through Black Box Productions and Bound for Broadway events. Theatre courses also produce small shows for classroom performances.

The annual fall musical is the event for Washington Township residents and is the only event to collaborate the entire Performing Arts Department at North Central High School. Some past productions include Bring It On!, The Addams Family, Oklahoma!, Catch Me If You Can, Beauty and the Beast, Aida, Into the Woods, Seussical, Les Miserable, and West Side Story.

Perform on Stage

Perform in one NC Theatre’s four main productions held each year. Typically our season is comprised of a fall drama, our annual musical in November and the spring comedy in May. In the winter we produce the Winter One-Acts. This series of shows is designed to allow Freshman and those with limited experience the opportunity to learn and perform.

Work Backstage

NC’s Technical Theatre is a highly skilled and very extensive program. All productions are built by students and ran by students. During performances, students are responsible for every aspect of the production, including calling all cues, moving sets and props, handling costumes and running light and sound consoles. In fact, the only faculty to work each performance is the Orchestra Conductor. Advance Technical Theatre students also do design work and often design lights, sets, and sound for various shows.

Class Offerings

North Central offers a wide variety of theatre related courses. Whether your goal is to be a star, design shows or direct, there is a class for you.

Being a part of North Central Theatre has fulfilled one of my greatest desires. I cannot speak highly enough of the training I've received here. Not only has it changed me as an individual but as an artist as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
