North Central is one of Indiana’s premier high schools with a tradition of excellence in performing arts. All theatre department productions are totally self-supporting. This year, the department will present several plays and the high-flying Bring It On The Musical, featuring an original story by Tony Award winner, Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music and lyrics by Tony Award- winning composer, Lin-Manuel Miranda. This production will be presented November 9-10, 2018. As a group of involved parents, we have formed TOPPS to help raise funds for the productions and to provide support for the theatre department.

These incredibly successful productions do not just happen. Combined with the artistry, skill, and talent of our amazing artistic team headed by Mr. Shewell, Mr. Raunick, and Mr. McIlquhan. We rely heavily on parents and guardians to support the many efforts that are required for a production of this scale.

Three ways that we are asking for your help are:

  1. Volunteer your time
  2. Donate to the silent auction
  3. Make a monetary donation to Friends of NC Theatre

Silent Auction

One of the many projects we undertake yearly is a silent auction to be held during the fall musical. The auction will take place in conjunction with the musical on Friday and Saturday of that weekend. This is the largest fundraiser of the year for the North Central Theatre Department. The proceeds help to offset the cost of productions as well as fund scholarships for Theatre students.

Last year’s silent auction was a huge success with over $4,000 raised and we’re looking forward to an even more successful auction this year. Donations for the auction are currently being accepted. Anything from $5 gift cards, to handmade jewelry, a gift certificate for a service, or tickets to major Indianapolis sporting and arts events can be used and will be appreciated for this silent auction effort. If you can provide it, we can sell it. And 100% of the proceeds to go the North Central Theatre department and students. We are asking for 100% participation this year with each family donating at least one item for this event.

In an effort to assist you with acquiring items, we have created a tool kit for your use, which includes three documents.

Using the language on the letters as a framework for conversations with vendors, business, service providers etc. is a good place to start. Once you have secured an auction item, please contact one of the auction co-chairs listed. We will make arrangements to receive it and get it placed in the auction.

Thank you so much for your help and support. We are very excited for Bring It On and we are so pleased your student has an interest in North Central Theatre.

Sincerely,

Midsummer Night's Dream was a play of outstanding quality. It was an ingenious production, glittered with mischief and laughter.
